Southern California Desert Offroad Map: Anza Borrego

Now that the California ATV Master Map has been split into two parts, the Desert Offroad Riding Area is undergoing major additions.

The first thing you will notice is that an overlay of the Anza Borrego State Park Boundary has been added. That was to help riders avoid any confusion over trail boundaries. It is invisible by default but can be toggled "ON" by clicking the checkbox in the menu area on the left of the Google Earth screen.

The second thing, which may not be obvious at first glance, is that many of the trails in that area have now been verified and updated; AND, there have been several new trails added. That was all thanks to, believe it or not, submissions from an offroader who lives in Switzerland.

The fellow apparently makes not-infrequent trips to visit family in the area and spends a lot of time riding the off roads.   [A free Google Earth file of this route is available at: Google Earth Trail FileOffroading Home - Southern Calfornia Trails.]

The trails which have been updated include: the South Coyote Canyon Trail, Hidden Spring Trail, Blowsand-Inspiration Point Trail, Vista del Malpais Loop Trail, Palm Wash Loop Trail and Hike, Arroyo Salado Trail, Borrego Mountain Wash Drop-off Trail, Cactus Garden - Harper Canyon Trail, Nolina-Pinyon Trail, Blair Valley Pictographs Trail, Carrizo Station and Marsh Trail, Tapaido-Nombre-Diablo-Vallecito Round Trip Trail, Mortero-Jojoba Drop-off Trail and Syd Hayden Spring Trails.

Many trails have added waypoints, side-trails and descriptions. All are in one of the most interesting riding areas in all of Southern California.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. I will, of course, be moderating all comments to make sure (a) they conform to the standards of good taste set forth by Offroading Home; and (b) nope that's pretty much it.
